Pastoral - Sex Abuse Members
sexually abused church members

My name is Max Haskett. I am an ordained minister. I, myself, lived through and received therapy for being sexually abused. I care deeply for the church and it's gifts and impact on people's lives. I have spent nearly 30 years seeking the solutions to the healing from sexual abuse. Some of those solutions are therapeutic, but the most significant solution is the church's gift: GRACE. I hope I can help explain those solutions and processes to you.

1.  To start with, click on the link that goes to the Dictionary of Understanding. You will see how I define the terms needed to understand these solutions.

2. Compare and contrast the two terms: Shame and Grace. Sexual perpetrators infuse shame into their victims. Grace is the unchangeable love and dignity that God has for humans. Replacing human's infusion of shame with the unchangeable love of God's Grace is the church's job.

If that sentence makes sense to you, let's keep talking.
